Indications / Uses of GOTAZIDINE Trimetazidine 35mg Tablet

This medicine is intended for use in adults who have angina (chest pain from heart disease). It’s used with other medicines to treat angina. It helps protect heart cells when there’s not enough oxygen during an angina attack.

What are the side-effects of GOTAZIDINE Trimetazidine 35mg Tablet?

Just like with all medications, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Common side effects

• dizziness
• headache
• abdominal pain
• diarrhea
• indigestion
• nausea
• vomiting
• rash
• itching
• hives
• weakness

Rare side effects

• fast or irregular heartbeats (palpitations)
• extra heartbeats
• faster heartbeat
• a sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing causing dizziness
• lightheadedness or fainting
• malaise (general feeling of being unwell)
• dizziness
• falls
• flushing

Some side effects (not well understood due to limited data)

• unusual movements (extrapyramidal symptoms)such as:
  • trembling or shaking of hands and fingers
  • twisting body movements
  • shuffling walk
  • stiffness of arms and legs, which may reverse upon discontinuation of treatment.
• sleep disorders (difficulty sleeping, drowsiness), vertigo (spinning sensation), constipation, severe generalized skin rash with blistering, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat leading to difficulty swallowing or breathing.
• severe reduction in white blood cells, which can increase susceptibility to infections, as well as a reduction in blood platelets, increasing the risk of bleeding or bruising.
• liver disease, characterized by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, feeling unwell, fever, itching, yellowing of the skin and eyes, pale stools, and dark urine.

Dosage / Direction for Use of GOTAZIDINE Trimetazidine 35mg Tablet

Adult
Take one 35mg tablet of Trimetazidine twice daily with meals, in the morning and evening. Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew them.

Patients with Kidney Disease and Elderly
If you have kidney problems or are over 75 years old, your doctor may adjust the dose of Trimetazidine 35mg Tablet. However, for patients with severe kidney disease, this medication is not recommended.

Children
Not recommended for children.
