Description:
Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the ear. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary for bacterial DNA replication, repair, and transcription. This action stops the growth and spread of susceptible bacteria. Ofloxacin otic solution is formulated as a sterile ear drop to directly deliver the medication to the site of infection, helping reduce bacterial growth, inflammation, pain, and discharge associated with ear infections.

Uses:
• Treatment of bacterial infections of the outer ear (otitis externa)
• Treatment of middle ear infections (otitis media) in patients with ear tubes
• Management of ear infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Relief of symptoms such as ear pain, swelling, redness, and discharge associated with ear infections
• Prevention of worsening or spread of bacterial ear infections when used as prescribed
