Loperamide HARVIMIDE 2mg Capsule 100’s

INDICATION Control and symptomatic relief of acute non-specific and chronic diathea associated with inflammatory bowel disease. Also indicated in ileostomy to control/reduce the volume of discharge.

CONTRAINDICATION Hypersensitivity to Loperamide. Not recommended in children below 2 years of age and should not be used as primary therapy in acute dysentery, characterized by blood in stools and high lever Pregnant women and nursing/lactating mothers. Patients with antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis. Patients with diarrhea caused by Salmonella, Shigella, and Campylobacter infections

WARNING AND PRECAUTION In patients with diarrhea especially in infants and children, fluid and electrolyte loss may occur in such cases, appropriate fluid and electrolyte therapy should be administered. patients with acute diamea, if no clinical improvement is observed within 48 hours, the administration of Loperamide Hydrochloride should be discontinued and patients should be reformed to a physician. Patients with impaired hepatic function should be closely monitored for signs of CNS toxicity because of the high first-pass metabolism. Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
