Description

Gaviscon (Peppermint) Oral Suspension is a peppermint-flavored antacid liquid or sachet‐format suspension containing a combination of three active ingredients per 10 mL dose:

• Sodium alginate — 500 mg

• Sodium bicarbonate — 213 mg

• Calcium carbonate — 325 mg
  These ingredients work together to relieve symptoms of excess stomach acid. The suspension forms a protective gel (“raft”) that floats on top of stomach contents, helping reduce acid reflux into the esophagus, while the antacids neutralize excess stomach acid.

This oral suspension is used for the relief of symptoms associated with excess stomach acid and gastro-oesophageal reflux, including:

• Heartburn (burning sensation in the chest).

• Acid regurgitation (sour or acidic taste in the throat/mouth).

• Indigestion / hyperacidity-related discomfort after meals.
