Common side effects of Mucolief Carbocisteine 500mg may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach discomfort.

Certain side effects may require urgent medical attention. Notify your doctor promptly if you encounter any of the following:

  • Fainting or passing out, along with stools that are bloody or as dark as tar, and vomiting blood or material resembling ground coffee
  • Development of rashes, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, eyes, or mouth
  • Appearance of rashes accompanied by skin peeling or blistering of the lips, mouth, or eyes, along with fever

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects persist, worsen, or if you experience other adverse reactions.

Dosage / Direction for Use

Take Carbocisteine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Avoid taking more or less than prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
You can take carbocisteine with or without food. Swallow capsules whole.Dosage:
Adult & Children over 12 yrs old: one 500mg capsule every 8 hour.

Contraindications

Notify your doctor if you have stomach or bowel ulcers, as Carbocisteine may not be appropriate for your condition.

Do not administer this medication to children under 2 years of age unless specifically directed by a doctor.

Special Precautions

Patients with a medical history of gastroduodenal ulcers, chronic bronchial asthma, or respiratory failure, as well as those taking medications known to induce gastrointestinal bleeding, should exercise caution when using Carbocisteine. It is not advisable to combine it with antitussive medications or drugs that reduce bronchial secretions.
