Atropine (as sulfate) TROPIN 1mg/ml Solution for Injection 10’s
Description:
Atropine sulfate is an anticholinergic medication that works by blocking the action of acetylcholine in the parasympathetic nervous system. This effect helps relax smooth muscles, reduce gland secretions, and increase heart rate. Atropine injection is commonly used in emergency and clinical settings to treat conditions involving excessive parasympathetic activity. It is also widely used as a pre-anesthetic medication and as an antidote for certain types of poisoning.
Uses:
• Treatment of symptomatic bradycardia (slow heart rate)
• Antidote for organophosphate and nerve agent poisoning
• Reduction of excessive salivation and respiratory secretions before surgery
• Management of certain types of heart block and cardiac emergencies
• Treatment of gastrointestinal spasms and hypermotility
• Ophthalmic use to dilate pupils and paralyze accommodation (in some medical procedures)
