Philvasc Amlodipine 5mg is used to relax blood vessels, which helps lower high blood pressure, improve blood flow, and reduce the heart’s workload. This also enhances oxygen supply to the heart, preventing chest pain related to heart conditions.
This medication is also prescribed for treating specific types of chest pain, including Prinzmetal’s angina, a rare form that occurs during rest.
Children (6-17 years):
The starting dose is 2.5 mg daily, up to a maximum of 5 mg daily. Amlodipine 2.5 mg tablets are not available, and splitting 5 mg tablets is not recommended. Continuously take the medication and consult your doctor before completing your prescription.
Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage of this medication for you. They will also provide guidance on the duration of treatment based on your condition and how you respond to the medication.
Children and Adolescents
For children and adolescents aged 6 to 17, Amlodipine should only be used for hypertension.
Pregnancy and Breast-feeding
If pregnant or breastfeeding, discuss with your doctor before taking Amlodipine.
Driving and using machines
Amlodipine might affect your ability to drive or operate machinery, especially if it causes dizziness or tiredness. If you experience any adverse effects, contact your doctor promptly.
