Description / Uses:

Metoclopramide works by enhancing the movement (motility) of the stomach and intestines, helping food move more easily through the digestive system. It also acts on the brain’s chemoreceptor trigger zone to prevent nausea and vomiting.

Commonly used for:

• Nausea and vomiting (from surgery, chemotherapy, or other causes)

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

• Diabetic gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying in diabetics)

• To aid stomach emptying during radiologic exams
